What Are Your Favorite 5 Apps on Your Phone?
This question made me think, because some apps aren’t really favourites anymore – they’re simply necessities. Banking, messages, photos and all those practical things have become such a natural part of everyday life that we hardly think about them.
But if I look at the apps I genuinely enjoy using, my list says quite a lot about who I am.
My list
1. My security camera apps
Perhaps an unusual favourite, but definitely one of mine.
When I’m in Norway, I can open my camera apps and instantly look at our home and garden in Thailand. I can see the palm trees moving, check the garden and simply get a tiny glimpse of the place I miss.
Sometimes I don’t even open the cameras because I need to check anything. Just to listen to the sounds of the birds or the wind.
I just want to look home for a moment.
It is quite remarkable that a little app on my phone can make thousands of kilometres feel slightly smaller.
2. My website app
This one is probably among my most-used apps because Hennysway is such a big part of my everyday life.
I check my website every day. I follow what people are reading, work on posts, look at statistics and keep an eye on everything happening there.
What started as a website has gradually become my own little creative world – filled with travel, food, photography, thoughts, nature, experiences and everyday life.
3. Facebook
When I want to relax and do absolutely nothing productive, social media usually wins. 😄
But even there, I’m rarely just scrolling. Facebook gives me ideas, conversations, memories and little glimpses into other people’s lives that often inspire something I want to write about or explore further.
4. Instagram and Snapchat
I’m cheating slightly by putting these together, but they serve a similar purpose for me.
They are places for sharing the small moments – travel, food, nature, family, creativity and ordinary everyday happiness.
And they constantly give me new ideas.
5. My camera
This would probably be the hardest one to live without.
I love taking photographs and filming what happens around me. Not only the big experiences and beautiful travel destinations, but the tiny things too – a bird appearing beside me, unusual light over the sea, flowers in the garden, something delicious on a plate or simply a moment that makes me stop.
Photography has taught me to pay attention.
And perhaps that’s why my phone is so full of pictures. 😂
Looking at my five favourites, I realise they’re actually connected.
They allow me to create, remember, share, stay connected and notice the small things that make an ordinary day worth remembering.
So perhaps my favourite app isn’t really one particular app.
It’s whatever helps me stay curious about the life happening around me. 📱📷🌿✈️
